Eric and Jill Ferris, Northeast natives who attended college in North Carolina, fell in love with the area. They met, married and began the search for their first home four years ago.

“When we visited Bedford at Falls River we knew it would offer us the lifestyle we always desired,” shares Eric. “The extensively planned amenities and the location were hard to pass up.”

They moved into their Bedford townhome during the 2003 holiday season, and instantly felt at home. The Ferris family recently expanded when Jill gave birth to twins, and as the family considers upgrading their home, Bedford is the natural choice.

“The sidewalks make it easy to be active, and also to socialize with our great neighbors,” says Jill. “The availability of different home styles in this community offer something for every stage of life.”

Bedford at Falls River has been continuously recognized for its small town appeal since its initial development and the awards just keep coming. Named Community of the Year three times by the North Carolina Home Builder’s Association, Bedford at Falls River was honored again last month when national publication Where to Retire named the community to the America’s 100 Best Master-Planned Community list for the second time.

Even five years after its inception, new homes are still being built at Bedford and progress continues. A 25,000 square foot retail and professional complex called The Shoppes at Bedford Square will soon house a variety of businesses and services. An additional 10,000 square foot day care facility will be adjacent to the shopping center, and the new traffic light at Dunn Road and Falls of Neuse has improved traffic patterns for the community.
